Angel, Nancy Boy is saying he’d rather die with love than without it. Giving of himself to that love (ie that’s the expense and richness; expensive not just having a meaning of cost), and losing bits of himself in that (giving of)love. How is that sad and lonely?
Yes, I can understand that reading, but that’s not the reading I took from Nancy Boy’s words. I guess because I wrote the piece with that kind of thought in mind, ie that the expense (richness) of loving is worth dying (loss of self and ego) for.
Why?
Yes, it costs everything. Without it I could die with my everything intact.
I don’t agree. I find your comment very sad and lonely.

I felt he was saying that without love (the expensive of giving) he would have his whole (soul) intact. Unaffected by love.
